Rosetta-Orbiter RPCMAG Mars Swing-by Calibrated Data v9.0

Status: ARCHIVED

Abstract: This dataset contains CALIBRATED (CODMAC LEVEL 3) DATA of the MARS SWINGBY (MSB)of the ROSETTA orbiter magnetometer RPCMAG. The covered time period is August 29, 2006 until May 22, 2007. On August 29, 2006 the Passive Checkout PC3 was executed. In November and December 2006 the Passive Checkout PC4 took place. The actual Mars Swingby happened between February 23 and February 27, 2007 with the Closest Approach on February 25, 2007 at 01:58 UTC. On May 22, 2007 the Passive Checkout PC5 was executed. The current version of the dataset is V9.0. The difference to the datasets of earlier versions is mainly a significantly improved sensor temperature model, more detailed documentation about magnetic disturbance sources, more data handling information for the user and also an improved quality flagging system.
