In addition, the Rosetta Alice logbook file, RA_LOGBOOK_NNN.ASC, also located in the DOCUMENT directory provides observational details such as observation target, commanded exposure time, etc., for all Alice data. The Alice team strongly recommends reading this documentation before using the data. Data Set Overview ================= This data set contains uncalibrated data acquired by the Rosetta Orbiter ALICE UV Spectrometer during the Lutetia flyby mission phase, which took place between 2010-06-07 and 2010-09-10. A detailed listing of all Alice observations is given in the observation log file located in the DOCUMENT directory. The following Alice observations were made during the period covered by this data set: # Flyby of asteroid (21) Lutetia # 2010 July 5-13 # Alice activity overview: # * 2010-Jul-05 12:50:00 - AL02 (decontamination; 23 hr, 22 hr heater + 1 hr cooldown) # * 2010-Jul-06 14:00:00 - AL07 (dark calibration; 1 hr) # * 2010-Jul-06 15:00:00 - AL06B, AL03B, AL08B (stellar cal [zet Cas]; 1 hr each boresight) # * 2010-Jul-08 14:30:00 - AL21A (exosphere search, +26 deg roll; 8 hr 20 min) # * 2010-Jul-09 03:45:00 - AL21B (exosphere search, nominal roll; 5 hr 15 min) # * 2010-Jul-09 09:15:00 - AL21C (exosphere search, -26 deg roll; 9 hr 40 min) # * 2010-Jul-10 06:45:00 - AL21D (exosphere search, nominal roll; 4 hr 40 min) # * 2010-Jul-10 11:00:00 - AL07 (dark calibration; 1 hr) # * 2010-Jul-10 11:00:00 - Breakpoint 2 # * 2010-Jul-10 12:16:03 - AL31 (closest approach obs; 3 hr 49 min) # * 2010-Jul-10 12:44:53 - Asteroid Flyby Mode # * 2010-Jul-10 15:26:41 - Zero Phase # * 2010-Jul-10 15:44:55.5 - Closest Approach (3160 km) # * 2010-Jul-10 18:30:00 - AL09 (boresight alignment, raster scan [lam Aql]; 1 hr 45 min) # * 2010-Jul-11 04:45:00 - AL32 (closest approach bkg; 6 hr) # * 2010-Jul-11 10:45:00 - AL07 (dark calibration; 1 hr) # * 2010-Jul-11 12:45:00 - AL22A,B,C (exosphere bkg; 7.5 hr, 2.5 hr at each roll angle: 0,+/-26 deg) # * 2010-Jul-11 22:45:00 - AL06A, AL03A, AL08A (stellar cal [Vega]; 1 hr each boresight) # * 2010-Jul-12 03:15:00 - AL02 (decontamination; 23 hr, 22 hr heater + 1 hr cooldown) Processing ========== The data in this data set are uncalibrated, CODMAC Level 2 data. As such, corrections for detector dead time, dark counts, flatfield, and effective area have not been applied. The primary FITS header contains a list of which corrections have been applied to that file. Data ==== The data are in FITS format and text format. Each FITS file has a detached PDS label so that they can be read either by FITS or PDS tools. A detailed description of the data format is given in the ALICE EAICD document located in the DOCUMENT directory of this data set. Ancillary Data ============== No ancillary data included in this data set. Coordinate System ================= The geometry items SC_SUN_POSITION_VECTOR, SC_TARGET_POSITION_VECTOR and SC_TARGET_VELOCITY_VECTOR provided in the label of the data product are relative to the Earth Mean Equator frame of J2000. SUB_SPACECRAFT_LATITUDE, SUB_SPACECRAFT_LONGITUDE are given in the PLANETOGRAPHIC coordinate system. These parameters are computed at time t=START_TIME. Distances are given in km, angles in degrees. Software ======== All FITS readers should be able to successfully read the data. " CONFIDENCE_LEVEL_NOTE = " Confidence Level Overview ========================= Data confidence is nominal, meaning that all data have been validated by the Alice team and found as expected. Any exceptions are noted by the DATA_QUALITY field in the label files. Review ===== Data Coverage and Quality ========================= Data quality is good unless otherwise noted by the DATA_QUALITY keyword. Limitations =========== These data have not been calibrated and are in instrumental units" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_INFORMATION OBJECT = DATA_SET_MISSION MISSION_NAME = "INTERNATIONAL ROSETTA MISSION" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_MISSION OBJECT = DATA_SET_TARGET TARGET_NAME = "CALIBRATION" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_TARGET OBJECT = DATA_SET_TARGET TARGET_NAME = "21 LUTETIA" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_TARGET OBJECT = DATA_SET_HOST INSTRUMENT_HOST_ID = "RO" INSTRUMENT_ID = "ALICE" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_HOST OBJECT = DATA_SET_REFERENCE_INFORMATION REFERENCE_KEY_ID = "STERNETAL2007" END_OBJECT = DATA_SET_REFERENCE_INFORMATION END_OBJECT = DATA_SET END
