Refer to REX.CAT in the CATALOG/ directory of this data set for information about the REX instrument. Each line represents a REX period of operation overlapping in time with a corresponding time period when uplink signal from an Earth-based DSS was reaching the NH spacecraft. The first five fields describe both the time period and REX Side (A or B) of REX operation. The rest of the fields describe the time period of the DSS uplink that overlaps with time period of REX operation. CAVEATS ======= For some periods of REX operation, there were multiple DSS uplink signals; in those cases the same set of values will appear in the REX fields for mutiple rows of the CSV SPREADSHEET. If no uplink signal was sent during REX operation, then there will be one line with only the REX fields filled in, and each DSS fields will either be an empty string or have an invalid value (-1 for Mission Event Times; METs). The REX time periods cannot be used to determine the times and durations of REX data downlinked to earth. The compression, packetization and downlink of REX data to Earth were processes independent of REX operation. So if REX were turned on for a ten-minute time period, there will not necessarily be ten minutes worth of REX data available, or any REX data at all, for that time period. REX SideA is configured to measure Right Circular Polarized (RCP) uplink signals; SideB is configured to measure Left Circular Polarized (LCP) uplink signals, but this SPREADSHEET provids all signals of any polarity that were radiated to either REX side.
