     This file describes the contents of the BROWSE subdirectory for HAL_0023.
The subdirectory contains the FORTRAN source code for the program that was    
used by the Large-Scale Phenomena Discipline to produce small, < 256x256      
pixels, 1 byte/pixel, images of all the digital images.  This was done to     
permit the rapid search and display of a large number of images.              
                                                                              
     The routine was written in IBM FORTRAN and run on an IBM 3081 computer.  
A detailed description of the "browse" algorithm can be found in the file     
BROWSE.TXT located in this subdirectory.
