DOCUMENT/ Directory Contents

This directory contains the documentation supplied on the HAL_0001-18         
volumes.  There are two subdirectories:

This is a copy of everything in the "DOCUMENT" subdirectory of the HAL_0018   
volume.  Apart from CDTREE.TXT and CDSTRUCT.TXT, which were specific to each  
disk, the contents were intended to be identical on all disks.  The HAL_0018  
version was selected as it was the final edit of many of these files.  There  
is no file providing an overall table of contents for these files.  Many of   
them appear elsewhere in the data set as well, where they provide context     
for specific directories.                                                     
                                                                              
INDEX/                                                                        
                                                                              
This contains the contents of the INDEX/ subdirectory from the HAL_0018       
disk. Of these files, the CALIB.*, LSPNOBS.* and STRUCT.DBF files were        
identical on all 18 CDROM volumes; the EPHEM.* and NETLARGE.* covered         
only the time range specific to the volumes they appeared on - but            
cumulative versions have been created and included in the INDEX directory     
of this reorganized data set; and the CDSTRUCT.* and PATHTABL.* files         
were provided to document the structure of their respective volumes.          
These last have not been collected into cumulative versions because the       
physical layout information they contained is not longer relevant.  The       
HAL_0018 files are retained here as an example only.                          
                                                                              
SUMMARY/                                                                      
                                                                              
This directory was included only on the HAL_0018 disk and presents summary    
information relevant to the contents of all five disks in the series. Note    
that the ERRATA/ subdirectory contains errata lists for all the LSPN disks    
(HAL_0001-19), and that these errata have NOT been applied to any of the      
files in this data set during the current re-organization.  The SUMINFO.TXT   
file provides additional description of the SUMMARY directory contents.       
The contents of the HALL_0019 BROWSE/ and CALIB/ subdirectories, mentioned    
in the SUMINFO.TXT file, were reorganized into the BROWSE/ and CALIB/         
subdirectories of this data set and are, therefore, not repeated in this      
directory.
