IMPACT_CONTEXT_IMAGE_LOG.ASC and LOOKBACK_CONTEXT_IMAGE_LOG.ASC provide a log of the context frames, including geometric parameters displayed on the context images. o The SPACECRAFT_CLOCK_CORRELATION/ subdirectory contains the Deep Impact spacecraft clock correlation document. This report summarizes the rationale for the correlations between the flyby and impactor spacecraft clocks (SCLKs) and dynamical barycentric time that are encapsulated in the SCLK kernel files archived in the Deep Impact SPICE dataset. This document also explains why the clock correlation was retroactively changed by about 2 seconds, shortly after impact with comet 9P/Tempel 1. o The TEMPEL1_PHOTOMETRY_REPORT/ subdirectory provides a report that describes the analysis and process used to derive aperture photometry of Tempel 1 from science and navigation images acquired by the MRI CCD during the Deep Impact mission. - The EPOXI/ subdirectory contains supporting documentation for EPOXI mission, including the EPOCh and DIXI phases: o The DIXI_HARTLEY/ subdirectories contains overviews, sequences, and selected observational geometry for the EPOCh phase of the EPOXI mission: - The FLYBY_LOGS/ subdirectory provides annotated logs of HRII, HRIV, and MRI exposures commanded for the Hartley 2 flyby from 18 hours before to 48 hours after the encounter. - The MRI_ANOMALY/ subdirectory contains a report that describes the analysis and process used to derive photometry (light curve) of Hartley from science images acquired by the MRI CCD during the EPOXI mission - The MRI_PHOTOM/ subdirectory contains a report that describes the cause of the elevated signal in Hartley 2 MRI images acquired 5-25 September 2010, which can effect certain analyses including photometry o The EPOCH/ subdirectories contains overviews, sequences, and selected observational geometry for the EPOCh phase of the EPOXI mission: - The EPOCH_OVERVIEW.* document provides an overview of the EPOCh phase of the EPOXI mission (transiting planetary systems, Earth, Mars). - The EPOCH_EARTH_OBS.* document describes the EPOCh Earth observations, including how the data were acquired. - The EPOCH_EARTH_GEOM_yyyymmm.* documents contains raw and interpolated observational geometry provided by the EPOCh team for the Earth data acquired in Mar 2008, May 2008, Jun 2008, Mar 2009, and Oct 2009. The EPOCh team used these geometry values for their analysis because some data products at that time did not have good pointing information. - The EPOCH_MOON_GEOM_2008MAY.* document contains raw and interpolated observational geometry provided by the EPOCh team for the moon as it transited the Earth during the May 2008 Earth obs. - The EPOCH_EARTH_SEQ_2008.* document provides the pointing and observing sequence for EPOCh Earth observations acquired during Mar, May, and Jun 2008 by the IR spectrometer (HRII) and the two visible CCDs (HRIV and MRI). - The EPOCH_EARTH_SEQ_2009.* document provides the pointing and observing sequence for the additional EPOCh Earth polar observations acquired during March, September, and October 2009 by the IR spectrometer (HRII) and the two visible CCDs (HRIV and MRI). - The EPOCH_MARS_OBS.* document describes the EPOCh Mars observations in Nov 2009, including how the data were acquired. - The EPOCH_MARS_SEQ_2009.* document provides the pointing and observing sequence for EPOCh Mars observations acquired during November 2009 by the IR spectrometer (HRII) and the two visible CCDs (HRIV and MRI). - The EPOCH_TRANSIT_OBS.* document describes the EPOCh stellar transit observations, including how the data were acquired. - The EPOCH_TRANSIT_OBS_SCLK2BJD.* document describes the method used by the EPOXI project to calibrate temporal marks from the spacecraft clock and reduce the calibrated spacecraft clock times to a Barycentric Julian Date (BJD) in the UTC and TDB systems for the observations of transiting planetary systems. o The GARRADD_ISON_OBS/ subdirectory contains tables of centroids as measured by the EPOXI science team in the HRII spectral images and the MRI VIS images of comets Garradd and ISON. o The IMAGE_PARAM_TABLES/ subdirectory contains image parameter tables for raw and calibrated HRII, HRIV, and MRI EPOXI science datasets for the EPOXI mission. The image parameter tables provide information about each image in a dataset such as the UTC mid-point, exposure duration, and observation description. o The LUNAR_CALS/ subdirectory contains imaging sequences for lunar calibrations acquired during the EPOXI mission. o The STELLAR_PSFS_REPORT/ subdirectory contains a report that describes how the HRIV instrumental PSFs for EPOXI stellar calibrators such as Achernar and those for exoplanet transit targets such as GJ 436 were produced using a drizzle method. It also discusses the utilization of the PSFs. - The SCLK_FIX/ subdirectory provides documentation describing how to how to correct for the DI/EPOXI spacecraft clock 0-40ms translation error and usage of the SCLK timestamp for HRII ALTFF/DIAG image modes. It also provides a table of corrected SCLK timestamps for data acquired around the Deep Impact encounter with Tempel1 (SCLK_FIX_DI.*). - The THERMAL_SENSOR_ATLAS/ subdirectory provides an ITAR-cleared pictorial atlas illustrating the location of various temperature sensors of the science instruments on-board the Deep Impact flyby and impactor spacecraft. The measurements from these sensors are recorded in the telemetry, not the image headers, and provide a more accurate picture of the thermal environment for IR spectral and VIS analysis. PUBLICATIONS/ ------------- - The DI/SPACE_SCIENCE_REVIEWS/ subdirectory contains pre-impact papers about the Deep Impact mission and expected results published by Space Science Reviews in 2005.
