1.0 Scope The primary requirement of this task is the design and layout of the Comet Nucleus Tour (CONTOUR) Neutral Gas Ion Mass Spectrometer (NGIMS Analog flight computer (Analog FC) printed circuit board (PCB). To fulfill this requirement, the contractor must provide the skills, the facilities, equipment and services necessary to design the PCB. This work is based on previous work done on the Cassini INMS contract (via J & T). Several parts designed for INMS can be re-used again for NGIMS. The contractor will be able to use old INMS board designs to shorten design, verification and validation time. This includes complete compatibility with the CAD tools used by the INMS contract such that there are no translations required to new tools that would impose any rework of the board designs. 2.0 Design Requirements The contractor shall provide engineering and manufacturing services for the design and layout of PCB for the NGIMS Analog FC flight model (FM) instrument electronics. These designs will be based on Goddard furnished mechanical designs/drawings for each PCB. The contractor shall provide all tools and expertise required to provide this service. The contractor shall provide the task monitor with the drawings of the completed design for approval. 2.0 Applicable documents a) GSFC engineering "Drawing Standards Manual Document" No X573-64-IE b) NGIMS parts list c) GSFC requirements for printed circuit boards S-312-P003 d) GSFC requirements for electronic assemblies, Doc. Series NHB5300.4 e) CONTOUR/NIGMS systems/safety mission assurance plan (SSMAP) 3/30/00 3.0 Status reporting requirements The contractor is required to conduct meetings with the task monitor and all other relevant GSFC and contractor personnel a minimum of once two weeks (15 days after contract award). The meeting shall cover status of all ongoing activities related to the task including schedule, cost, and potential or unresolved problem areas. 4.0 Quality requirements QA requirements for light hardware: a) All deliverables shall be designed in accordance with the requirements of section 3.0 and 5.0 of this SOW. b) Government approval required for the design of PCB layout including critical part placement, critical lead length and other issues. c) Refer to SSMAP section 5 for further details. 5.0 Government furnished items (GFI) and materials (GFM) a) GSFC approved circuit board schematics and net list for each design. b) Mechanical drawings for each design. c) Applicable documents as requested by contractor. d) Electrical and mechanical part foot print drawings as requested by contractor. 6.0 Deliverables A monthly report shall be provided to the task monitor. This report shall contain the schedule, cost, and technical status of the contract. It shall be delivered no later than the 10th day of the next month. A complete design package shall be delivered. The package shall consist of the following: a) An electronic copy of all final artwork, printed wiring board, final assembly and piece part fabrication drawings including fabrication specifications. b) Three hard copies of final printed wiring board, final assembly, and piece part drawings. Additional copies of drawings may be required, as needed, during the development phase. c) Fabrication ready Gerber files and a list of any open items. d) Performance assurance documentation as required. 7.0 Deliverables schedule TDB
