Notes for May 8, 2002 meeting Present: Wayne Kasprzak John Westberg John Hardgrove Hasso Niemann Paul Mahaffy Dan Harpold Eric Raaen Stan Way Jamie Demick Florence Tan Alice Bowman 1. Important Dates pertaining to NGIMS * May 15th, 2002 NGIMS Final Baseline (Sequenced) * May 20th, 2002 Mission Sim Encounter (Sequenced) * June 1st 2002 Initial CheckOut and Pyro Breakoff/Rupture Valve scripts (STOL) due * July 1st 2002 Launch * July 3rd 2002 Contingency Launch * August 15th, 2002 SRM Burn * August 17th - 22nd , 2002 Initial Check Out (see #A) * Sept 8th - 21st, 2002 Pyro Breakoff, Rupture Valve operations (See # B C, and D) * Oct 31, 2002 CONTOUR hibernation starts 2. Scripts * Without fixes, we use 54% of CONTOUR commanding memory. It may be necessary to reduce our commands in future sequences and we should think of methods of reducing commands for future sequences. * All sequenced scripts must be submitted to APL for configuration management by May 20, 2002. Once scripts moved to production area, any changes must be tested on the SC Simulator and signed off by the originator, reviewer, tester, ops manager, and configuration manager. * Nick Pinkine will know about testing on the SC Sim. * TJ is the scheduler for SC Sim. * PostLaunch STOL scripts are due to APL on June 1. * Need to make sure we have STOL scripts to: 1. Run BA test in low emission (done) - to be tested 5/10/02 2. Run BA test in High Emission (done) - to be tested 5/10/02 3. Turn off BA filaments (done) - to be tested 5/10/02 PreLaunch, Post-Arm and PreRupture Scripts settings * Hi Emission * EM2 settings 205 (2593V) * No Valves operations * No Pyros operations * ARMing relay off * SW v. 3.709 Post launch pre-breakoff script settings * Hi Emission * EM2 settings 205 * Valves operations OK * Pyros operations OK * ARMing relay On Note: Ryan is unavailable to work on items 3-7. We will hire Hugh Graham (consultant) to complete items 3, 5, and 6. Eric Raaen will work with Hugh and Ryan to complete items 4 and 7. Florence Tan will initiate Hugh Graham's contract in SPS. 3. Database administration * Zip unneeded data * RAM dump data verification tool * Ability to edit EEPROM data space 4. Data Analysis Plan * Query data from past tests. * What programs needed? * Do we need Ryan to add more programs? 5. Sync databases between NEGSE/NEGSE2/Repulse 6. Back up plan - want NEGSE to push data to NEGSE2. Ability to expand backup files on NEGSE2 to sync up with NEGSE. * Last successful Backup of NEGSE to Repulse March 30! * Eric suggests backup from NEGSE should be done to Repulse and NEGSE2 on alternate days 7. NPTM display. Ryan to make display per Florence's specs. 8. Data query - Eric to alter NEGSE software to allow query. Data query requirements: * If querying from SDC in Cornell, data can be queried by MET. Raw data packets should be returned to us in a binary file. * NGIMS also needs ephemeris information per sequence * Other data query criteria: mass, sources * According to Leeha Herrera, during real time operations, if GSE located in building 13, NGIMS will be able to receive realtime data. The query will have to be disconnected and connected with the correct frontend query string for each DSN station change (frontend = Madrid, Goldstone, etc). 9. Telemetry/Telecommand documentation review 10. Software (Mike P. to address) * Reset Anomaly (CSC-058) * Hang up anomaly (CSC-062) EXTRA MATERIAL: Sequences (see Post Launch Turn On Sequence document) A. Instrument Initial Check Out after SRM burn (see #1 for dates). Alice asked for 30 min during 1st DSN pass. If approved, we will be able to perform: * power on * TM On (2 minutes) * Power off B. Instrument Initial Check Out after SRM burn (see #1 for dates). If approved, we will be able to perform: * Baseline (SEQUENCED) - as early as possible (in period 9/8-9/22) C. Pyro Break off (as late as possible) * Instrument functional19d (includes BA pressure check) - STOL * Perform Pyro Break off (spacecraft operation, must turn off NGIMS, ask JM about relative timing of pyro commands) - STOL * Instrument functional19d - Sequenced D. Rupture valve operation * Close valve 2 * Rupture Valve - STOL * Open Valve 2 * Run Pressure Check to establish Decay Time - STOL * Close valve 2 * TM on, Leave NGIMS while establishing decay time (** Wayne to write procedure) * Next DSN pass, Open Valve 2 * Wait for pressure to equalize (Dependent on decay time) * Wait TBD (30?) hours * Close valve 2 * Pressure check, during pressure Check - open valve 2 for TDB (10?) minutes, close valve 2. Measure pressure for the 10 minutes and close valve 2 * Look at Data, is it safe to run calibration valve check * If good, run Calibration Valve Check - SEQUENCED
